When a colleague asked me to look at question stems by standard, I searched for additional resources and found a keeper! Although it appears California adapted their own version of CCSS standards, the crosswalks do not reveal major changes; I would feel confident using them in a PA classroom.
For example, check out this sample 8th grade CCSS “bookmark” by standard which include essential skills and concepts, question stems and prompts as well as academic vocabulary for each standard.
Classroom teachers can incorporate these stems into discussions or utilize them as writing prompts with any text.
